Holly VandenBerg: Calendar

Going to the lobby to mingle with fans probably isn't a good idea if you have less than 10 minutes till you're up. It was close, I almost missed my time slot to play! Mylan made a good joke about it and the show went on! I'm definately going to watch the time for now on.

Now that my CD RELEASE CONCERT is behind me and I am back at college I first want to give a BIG THANK YOU to Peg and Steve Lange who had great ideas for the lobby and the production. I am so grateful for all the hard work they put in. THANK YOU Debbie Bullis for doing the lighting, Dan Wildermuth for the sound and being my MC. I wouldn't have had anyone else. Next the three servers for the lobby-Joyce, Jean and Josephine. They kept it all running smoothly while I signed CDs for my fans. Thank you violinist Diane Peterson for complimenting my two songs beautifully. Also a big THANK YOU to my mom, dad and brother Thomas who have always supported me in my career. A lady named Margaret, who is a resident, stopped me and my mother in the hallway asking if we could bring my great grandmother Yvonne out to visit. My mother has been taking her weekly now and the whole group of ladies have been enjoying the coffee time.

We performed hymns and a few songs from my album. They especially enjoyed the penny whistle and harmonica. My mother gave a interesting mini speech titled Behind the Scenes- what it took to create the From The Heart CD Project

Every library gave us a warm welcome and was very helpful when the "Roadie" needed assistance with the equipment. I hope everyone attending came away with some new knowledge from my show. We will miss the tour.

A woman who runs a daycare in town bought a CD and each one of her kids will get to take it home for a night to show their parents a snapshot of their memory of Catch the Beat with Holly. That is a clever idea!

When it came time to demonstrate the pennywhistle, I couldn't for the life of me play that thing! I was squeaking and popping it up an octave and laughing while I attempted to play The Star Spangled Banner. It became a comedy act.

The interview was mostly about my Catch the Beat at the Library tour. She wanted to hear about my debut album Holly from the Heart and played track #3 Dancing in the Moonlight.
